Statement
My choice of subject matter depends heavily on composition. My work is made from snapshots of time, instantaneous moments when I see something that creates a composition of relationships I feel compelled to capture. Sometimes the painting comes from a found image or a part of one..
I strive to create a painting that weaves an unbroken web of relationships and connections across and through the composition. Shapes, objects, bolts of colour in a figurative composition fitting and clicking together trying to create a rhythmic space, fusion and a sort of compositional homogeneity. I try to find a delicate balance where each element depends completely and entirely on every other.
